Sunderland City of Music

We are currently working with Sunderland Music City CIC on the Evaluation and Economic Impact of Sunderland Year of Music (2025-26). Sunderland Year of Music is an ambitious, community-focussed initiative, amplifying musical activity across the City and bringing events of different genres to different places and spaces. We are tracking the civic, cultural, social and economic impacts of this project using a mixed methods approach, combining more traditional quantitative and qualitative methods with creative evaluation methods that reflect the DIY spirit of the city’s music scene.
