Polly Rodgers

Polly is an early career researcher and facilitator with a particular interest in narrative research, vernacular history and community engagement. She places participatory values at the heart of her work, breaking down the distinctions between storyteller and audience, artist and participant, to democratise our shared history, and to build collaborative new possibilities.

She began her career in 2009 working on community oral history and digital storytelling projects. Since then she has managed the oral history strand of larger research projects with arts organisations including Pascal Theatre Company, and produced Historypin’s King’s Cross Story Palace, a major HLF funded project on the King's Cross area. Her research experience has primarily explored the social impact of regeneration, community involvement in public spaces, community and digital storytelling, and co-production. She has an MA in Studies in Fiction from the University of East Anglia, and keeps her practice alive through ongoing CPD, including a recent postgraduate short course in Narrative Research from the University of East London.
